Supplier Portal & Process Improvement

Story

Ebara International Corporation has been in business for 40 years, manufacturing pumps and expanders. The company implemented an IFS ERP solution to manage its operations.

Subsequently, Frank Lowery, Ebara’s IS Director, recognized the potential for additional improvements. He knew they could leverage the system and become better IFS users by enhancing several processes, particularly purchasing and document management.

Because Frank had numerous ideas about how to improve various aspects of the business, he might have to employ an array of experts in various fields. Turning his concepts into reality would require IFS professionals, database specialists, technical development experts, someone familiar with Ebara business systems, and possibly others.

That would not be a particularly efficient method, and he could run the risk of receiving contradictory advice. To ensure he followed through on his ideas and received the best guidance, Frank opted to find one consultant that met all requirements.

Solution

Frank came to Nayo Technologies because Nayo has expertise in all areas related to IFS and could meet essentially every need Ebara had. Nayo specializes in implementation, upgrades, process improvement, project planning, technical consulting, report development, and even custom application development.

Nayo established a strong relationship with Frank and collaborated on a number of ideas and projects. He came to Nayo with an idea to simplify report writing and management. He also wanted to be able to view purchase orders and improve the efficiency of communication with suppliers.

These requests ultimately led to the creation and launch of the Nayo Supplier Portal, which allows users to view real-time purchasing updates and streamlines the purchase order management process.

Benefits

Operating an ERP system can be complicated. Nayo wanted to help Ebara make its processes more user friendly, as a way to boost the company’s overall productivity.

The purchasing department previously had to scrutinize their processes continuously to stay on top of purchase order related issues. The techniques implemented by Nayo are significantly easier to use, more accurate and efficient.

Nayo experts also provided enhancements that made reporting procedures much simpler. “We were writing reports and managing the reporting process,” Frank said. “[Nayo’s] expertise helped simplify it.”

By streamlining purchasing, document management, and reporting, company officials now have confidence that these important processes are effectively managed. Ebara has Nayo professionals on its side to ensure any additional help needed in their business is promptly and properly handled.

Nayo Difference

What ultimately proved to be a major advantage to Ebara was Nayo’s ability to solve problems as soon as possible, without risking a slowdown of their operations. Nayo’s global presence allowed flexibility to work on projects around the clock, even during U.S. client off hours.

“That was a big benefit. We’d go home at 5:00 and we would come back to a solution,” Frank said.

“Why go find many different resources and consultants when I can get all I need from Nayo?” – Frank Lowery
